Amalie offers formatting for both print and ebook editions, rapid turn around time, and whatever bells and whistles Vellum offers. (Not using InDesign, guys, too much effort!)

Fiction - Novels
Ebook only: $25
Print and Ebook: $35

NonFiction (because the formatting is much more labor-intensive, with somewhat longer turnaround--a couple of days.)
Ebook only: $75
Print and Ebook: $100

Note: I'm not doing books with lots of pictures in them at this time. A picture here or there with caption is fine, but mostly I'm working on text-dense books.

Disclaimers
  • My expertise is Romance, and while I enjoy other types of Fiction, I don't feel qualified to do story/content editing outside of Romance.
  • I cannot guarantee anyone seeking traditional publication will get published because of our efforts.
  • I will be direct and honest, but tactful. Sugar-coating things won't help, so for Critique or Story Doctoring... be prepared.
  • I do not read Inspirational Romance. Sorry. Hard limit.
  • I also reserve the right to turn down projects.

Proofreading

After your book has been copy edited by someone else, to make certain it's been done well.

My current rate is $.006 per word.


Copy Editing

Genres: Fiction

After your book has found its final form, been beta read and revised for story, this is an edit for flow, style, grammar, spelling.

My current base rate is $0.01 per word, but if the writing is very rough, that rate could rise.

Note: I do not do substantive editing. I will correct for grammar, spelling, flow, and flag inconsistencies and issues, but I'm not rewriting chunks or moving bits around.


Critique

Genres: Romance Only

This is less in depth than Developmental Editing, but more than Beta Reading. I will read for story, overall structure, plot holes and logic fails, and character arcs, and provide a letter for both what is working, and what isn't.

My current rate is $.015 per word.

Developmental Editing/Story Doctor

Genres: Romance only

I will work with you beat by beat to nail down plot points to both advance the external plot, the romance, and the internal character arcs.

My current rate is $.06 per word.
